Titus 2 Ministry – Come Join Us!
I have been involved with our Titus 2 ministry for several years now as an OWL. Each of our groups has been organized with 4-5 OWLS (Older Women Loving Sisters) and with 4-6 Chicks (younger Christian women). Our mantra is taken from Titus 2:3-5 – “training the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.”
Our next organization meeting for 2023 will be held on October 11 at 6pm at Northside. Groups will be decided at this meeting. These groups will meet January through December, once a month, in an OWL’s home. The OWLS of the group take turns hosting, and together prepare the meal and activity for the evening.
Our intent is to spoil the Chicks, get closer to God and each other, and have so much fun! We slow down and share our lives at these monthly get-togethers. We pray together and bear one another’s burdens. We pray for one another all through the month till we meet again.
God is so good and listens to our prayers. Ask a young wife who shared that she wanted so badly to start her family. She now happily has three beautiful children! Ask a young single mom who was struggling to finish school while raising her kids. She now has graduated and is working at her dream job! Ask a young wife whose husband had all but given up on God. They now worship together as a family! God is so good!
It’s the task of the OWLS to love, train, encourage, and give in our Titus 2 groups, but as an OWL, I have gained much more than I have given. It’s very rewarding and time very well spent. Come join us!
