New Elder “Introduction” – Clayton McCullough

New Elder “Introduction” – Clayton McCullough

Clayton McCullough was born in Houston and moved several times before his family came to Wichita in 1971. After graduating from Goddard High School in 1977, he attended Texas Tech for two years before returning home to work in the family business, Wichita Tractor Company. In December of 1980 he met Tami through a mutual friend.

Clayton grew up in the Methodist church and was baptized in 1981 at the Belle Plaine Church of Christ. He and Tami were married on April 10, 1982, in the Bartlett Arboretum in Belle Plaine.

The McCulloughs came to Northside in 1997. Through the encouragement of two elders, Marvin Casebolt and Clint Petty, he got involved wherever he could. Then Kreg Greenwood recruited him to teach a class at Family Camp the second year they attended. Clayton helped with small accounts payable for several years before becoming deacon over Facilities in 2004. In 2007, he helped develop the Men in Black support team for the Women Walking with God conference, and he continues to help with that ministry. Clayton has also been involved with the youth ministry and serves on the Spiritual Advisory/Accountability Team.

Clayton served as an elder from 2012 to 2021, when he took a break to take care of life-stage transitions of their parents. He has felt the urging of the Spirit to step into this role again and considers it an honor to serve Northside as a shepherd. He hopes the congregation will continue to encourage individuals and offer them opportunities to develop and use their gifts to serve the Kingdom.

Tami has been involved in the WWW/God conference since it began. She has served on the Management Team and was Program Director for many years. Tami loves babies and has taught the  Cradle Roll class for years and has developed several of the lesson plans.

Clayton & Tami have two daughters. Missy is married to Craig Dossey and they live in Wichita. They have four children: Brooklynn, Cydnee, Caleb, and Landon. Lindsay is married to Kelby Kingsley, and they live in Goddard with their two children, Kenzie and Konner. Their family fills their lives with love, laughter and joy!

The McCulloughs enjoy traveling, spending time with family, and attending their grandchildren’s activities. Clayton loves to stay active and gets up early every morning to work out, as he has for 40+ years. He actually met Tami at a Nautilus Fitness Center in Wichita and asked her to marry him after they dated for just 10 days.
