Adult Bible Classes (January – April 2025)

Adult Bible Classes (January – April 2025)

Sunday Mornings

On Sunday mornings we will return to our study of Acts of the Apostles. In Acts 13-28 we will move to the dramatic expansion of God’s church. Over three missionary journeys we can learn a lot about God’s providence and Paul’s commitment to each of the earliest churches.

Wednesday Evenings

In the Auditorium, Steve Tandy will teach a class called, What People Want to Know About the Bible. After 38 years of Know Your Bible, it is evident what folks want to know about the Bible. They wonder about the afterlife – judgment and heaven and hell.  They want to understand why bad things happen to good people. They question why Christianity is so divided. This class will dig into those topics, and a few others, to help us to “always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you.” (1 Peter 3:15)

In the Fireside Room, Lindsay Denton will lead a class for women called, Embracing Our Identity Through Christ. Lindsay said, “As women, our identity is tested every day. We are constantly being criticized for who we are and the paths we have chosen to follow. In this class, we will dive into what identity means, how to express our identity with a Christian mindset, and how to live according to the gospel each day as women and children of God. We will also look at excuses we make and how to overcome them, as well as lies we tell ourselves and what God says instead of those lies. By the end of this class, we will have a better grasp on our purpose in Christ’s Kingdom and control our mind to think in a Christian manner, not a worldly manner.”

For the men, Cole Douglas will teach a class in the ALIVE classroom called Act Like a Man. As part of our renewed Men’s Ministry, this class will bring Northside men together to open up scripture and become better equipped to battle life as God has designed.  According to Cole, “As God’s men, we’re going to do things differently. We’re going to do marriage differently, parenting differently, money differently, gender differently, everything differently than the world that does not know our God. Our society now declares that if you’re a Christian, you’re a weirdo, a minority, an outlier, a freak. We will study God’s plan for being His kind of man and how real  masculinity is a blessing to women and children and a glory to God. To get equipped for the challenge to Act Like a Man of God, join us beginning Wednesday, January 8!
