All-Season Clothing Drive

All-Season Clothing Drive

On April 28, Brother Wes Anderson, preacher for the Downtown Kansas City church of Christ, told our Sunday night crowd about the work their church is doing. He thanked us for our financial support (through our missions offerings) and invited us to help their ministry in other ways.

Wes told us their church strives to be a beacon of hope amid human suffering. The congregation is on the 211 list in Kansas City as a place where people can get food and clothing. They feed hundreds every month, and many come to their building to get clothes for babies, adolescents, and adults.

Would YOU like to help our brothers and sisters in Kansas City provide clothes to their neighbors? For the next two weeks, we are collecting new and gently-used apparel from all seasons. Any clothing items you can provide will help!

Here are three ways you can help:

  1. Please drop off your clean, folded clothing items (no undergarments or socks) to the Northside Fellowship Hall no later than May 15. These items will be boxed and labeled, so no hangers, please.

  2. If you would like to help with sorting, boxing, and labeling, please meet at the building on Saturday, May 18, at 9 AM.

  3. Please text Kevin (204-3567) or me (722-6274) to let us know if you would like to help with delivery on Sunday morning, May 19. The group will meet at Northside at 6:45 and leave at 7:00. We will attend worship at the Downtown church at 10:30. Then we’ll unload the truck and share lunch. We will return home after lunch and hope to be back by late afternoon or early evening.
