August – October Adult Bible Classes
SUNDAY MORNINGS – 1&2 Peter (Starting August 10)
He was loud and bold, full of faith and courage. Peter had some of the highest moments in service to Christ, but he also suffered the shame of denying him three times on that night in Jerusalem. At the empty tomb, an angel said to Mary Magdalene, “But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.” (Mark 16.6-7) May God bless our study of Peter’s two letters.
WEDNESDAY EVENINGS (Starting August 20)
In the Auditorium, we will study Apologetics and Christian Evidences. Genesis 1.1 clearly states, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” However, society no longer considers evolution to be just a theory. Most people think that our world can only be explained through atheistic theories that damage faith and lead our children away from Christ. Can the Bible be trusted as the foundation of our faith?
In the Fireside Room, we will have a ladies’ class studying the complex, powerful and prophetic book of Ezekiel. Are we much different as a human race than the faithless nation of Israel? In Ezekiel 36, God reveals His plan to restore and reconcile humanity to himself: “Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act… I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you… I will put My Spirit within you.” If you feel intimidated by Old Testament history or books of prophecy, this class is for you!
We will also offer a men’s class in the ALIVE classroom, based on the book, Every Man a Warrior. This discipleship course will help Northside men live beyond the mediocrity that surrounds us in society. This challenging course will include chapters titled: Why Discipleship, Why Men Fail, A Man of the Word, You Do Not Have Because You Do Not Ask, and The Secret to a Changed Life.
On Wednesday evenings beginning in September, we will offer a Healing Grace Step Study under the Celebrate Recovery ministry. This is a seven-month study that will change your life if you purposefully work through the CR steps. In our 14 years of this ministry, God’s Holy Spirit has changed more than 150 lives through this study. See Doug Wagner or Kathy Middleton with questions.
