This week at Teen Camp we will have 71 teens heading to the mountains to glorify God through worship, Bible teaching, and fellowship. My prayer is that they will leave with a better understanding of the Holy Spirit and a desire to serve God in all they do. We will start the week examining the fact that everyone we know, non-believers included, is reaping a harvest.
Galatians 6:7-16 says, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
While our teens are at camp this week, take time to meditate on the verse above and look at your own life. Where are you planting seeds? Sometimes sowing to please the flesh is so much easier, and the rewards come more quickly, while sowing to please the Spirit is a road full of discipline, and the reward seems distant. The Bible is clear that when we sow to please the Spirit an eternal reward is coming, we just need to deny our flesh and let the Spirit within us produce fruit!
This world is just a mist, and in this mist, we will see evil people rewarded and thriving. We will also see wise godly people suffer and have all sorts of trouble. We need to encourage one another in light of this and remind each other to set our minds on things above, not on earthly things.
God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
Thank you all for praying for our teens this week. May God be glorified in all we do!
