God’s Word on World Missions

God’s Word on World Missions

God makes it abundantly clear in his inspired Word that he wants us to share the good news about him throughout the whole world. Northside’s annual Missions Sunday is scheduled for April 24, and as it approaches, let’s look at just a few of the places in the Bible where God emphasizes this important task.

Mark 16:15 – Go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone.

1 Chronicles 16:24 – Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.

Isaiah 45:6 – I have equipped you… so all the world from east to west will know there is no other God.

Luke 24:47 – Repentance and forgiveness of sin should be proclaimed . . . to all nations.

Exodus 9:16 – I have raised you up… so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.

John 20:21 – As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.

Matthew 9:37 – The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.

Isaiah 12:4 – Make known his deeds among the peoples.

Mark 13:10 – The gospel must first be proclaimed to all nations.

1 Samuel 17:46 – The whole world will know there is a God in Israel.

2 Peter 3:9 – The Lord is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Revelation 14:6 – Then I saw another angel with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people.

Romans 10:13-15 – “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent?
