Greet One Another (With Name Badges!)

Greet One Another (With Name Badges!)

Did you get any “holy kisses” after worship Sunday? I didn’t, but I did get some hugs! If you missed it, Toby spoke on the importance of greeting one another and challenged us to meet five people. He also encouraged teens to meet some “grey hairs,” so I made myself available! One teen I met had introduced himself to 15 older folks!

Toby also reminded us of how important it is to wear our name badges. If you haven’t been wearing yours lately, here are three reasons you should get back in the habit:

  1. It makes it easier for new people and those who have been here a while to meet each other.
  2. It helps anyone call you by name, even when they don’t know or can’t remember your name.
  3. Studies show that communication is improved between people who know each other’s name. This is especially true in large churches where people interact regularly with others they haven’t met.

To support my point that we all need to wear our name badges, see how many of the Northsiders below you can identify. (Answers are printed upside down at the bottom of the article.) If you don’t know all of them, that means THEY need to wear their name badges to help you out. But then again, how many of THEM know YOU? Maybe you should wear YOURS, too!
