Growth in Christ will Change Your Life

Growth in Christ will Change Your Life

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation……….” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Most Christians I know cherish this promise. We rejoice in the assurance that we have been washed clean and made new. Likewise, Romans 12:2 calls us to be “transformed by the renewing of your mind.” These passages remind us that salvation is not merely a moment—it is the beginning of a lifelong transformation.

Yet growth in Christ is more than a comforting truth; it is a daily calling. After the joy of new life comes the challenge of living it out. There will be moments when relationships strain, when fellow believers disappoint us, and when we are reminded that all are susceptible to sin. In those moments, our commitment to Christ is tested. Will we remain anchored in who we agreed to be in Him?

Change comes at a price. Jesus said, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily” (Luke 9:23). Following Christ requires surrender—of pride, ego, selfish desires, and comfortable patterns. Hebrews 12:11 reminds us that discipline is painful in the moment, but it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace.

The debt for our salvation has already been paid by Christ. The “price” we pay is obedience—choosing daily to lean into His will. The pain of growth is temporary, but the fruit of spiritual maturity is eternal. Let us embrace the process and reflect the transforming power of Christ in every area of our lives.
