HELP FOR SOWING AND HARVESTING
The Know Your Bible television ministry is Northside’s largest outreach ministry, and as such involves LOTS of folks who do the work and pay the bills. KYB may look like “three guys on TV” but that is a tiny part of all the workers who do the actual sowing and harvesting. Let me show you two pictures from “behind the scenes.”
This is where the Lord’s church meets in Strafford, MO. Strafford is a growing community a few miles northeast of Springfield. The church had struggled with declining attendance but over the last few years has reversed that trend and is getting larger and healthier. Brother Gene Loomis informed me a few months ago that the leadership there felt they were now financially able to start helping some other ministry and believed Know Your Bible was a worthy effort to support. We welcome their monthly gift and their participation in sowing the seed!
This is Gary L from Burlington, IA. Gary began watching KYB, then enrolled in the Correspondence Courses, then visited the Lord’s church in Burlington a few months ago. On July 7, he visited again and asked to visit with someone about baptism by immersion because he felt like he needed to be baptized. After a visit with one of the men there, Gary was baptized into Christ.
That did not happen because of the “three guys on TV.” The Burlington church is our partner in the Illinois/Iowa market. They answer the phones, grade the courses, and follow up with graduates. They also pay the expenses involved in all of that. Obviously, they are Christ’s ambassadors when someone like Gary is drawn to Christ.
