KYB Passes the Baton

KYB Passes the Baton

July 6 marked the final broadcast episode of Know Your Bible. We received a lot of nice comments from viewers, such as, “I have enjoyed your broadcast so much and am sorry for it to end. I will check out the new digital format, but will miss the old familiar Sunday televised show. Thank you for your years of basic Bible education! God bless you.” And, “I am so sorry you are no longer going to be on the air. We have been faithful watchers for years, and hope you change your minds and stay on the air! You will be sorely missed.”

For 39 years KYB pursued its mission of getting people interested in studying the Bible. Answering their questions was the “hook” to get folks watching and find the ones who wanted to learn more. Among those students we found a lot of “good soil,” where the seed took root and the Kingdom grew!

Personally, it was a privilege to direct the ministry for almost four decades and get to witness how God worked through the family at Northside (and many others). Working with five other men (David, Louis, Bill, Toby, and Jeff) over the years as the public face of KYB was a unique opportunity. But it was generous givers, Bible Correspondence Course graders, phone operators, and faithful prayer warriors “behind the scenes” who really made it happen.

If all of this sounds to you like “the end,” you’re wrong. Thirty-nine years may seem like a marathon, but it was really just the first leg of the KYB relay. Admittedly, the first leg was a long one, but the baton has been passed to a new generation. Same mission – new method!

Consider these statistics:

Doesn’t that sound like it’s time for the next leg of this relay? The audience is huge. People are seeking answers and the market is flooded with providers, many providing doctrines and philosophies of men. It’s time for a provider who answers with simple Bible truth!
