New-and-Improved Safari Classroom
Over spring break last week, the Denton and Pearman families updated a classroom in the children’s Safari Wing. Julie Pearman and I are curriculum writers for the Safari to the Son classes, grades 1-4. I write for the Music and Memory class and Julie writes for the Games class. Both classes meet in the same room on different weeks in the Safari classes’ six-week rotation.
When we were discussing our lessons, it was clear that a couple of things were needed to improve their quality. After some collaboration and brainstorming, we decided to bring the sunshine inside with a full wall dedicated to a shining sun. We even obtained a large whiteboard that was unexpectedly gifted to us because the seller felt it was going to a good cause. What a blessing!
Eventually the room will have some storage added for game materials, and we hope to get a projector mounted in the ceiling. You will have a chance to hear more about all the Safari to the Son classes later this summer, so look for more information to come!
