Austin & Emily Campbell were born and raised in Wichita. They fell in love when they were in the Northside youth group together and were married on May 19 of this year. Austin graduated from Heights High School and Emily is a Goddard High School graduate. He was a catcher on the Heights baseball team until he was severely injured when hit in the face by a pitch when batting. After high school, Austin studied history for a year at Oklahoma Christian and then started working as a mechanic for Wichita Tractor Company. He has been with them three years. Austin enjoys deer and duck hunting, bass fishing, and disc golf. He also enjoys competing in five vs. five paintball tournaments and has been involved in that sport since he was eight. His dad, Luke, played it professionally. Austin’s family came to Northside in 2016. His parents are Luke & Jennifer Campbell, his grandparents are Hugh & Carole Campbell, and his sisters are Blanca Gardner, Grace Duncan, and Cassidy Campbell. He is also the proud uncle of Cayden Gardner. Emily’s family came to Northside in 2007 when she was 4. Her parents are Jason & Mary Allen, her grandparents are Don & Paula Dean, and her brothers are Adam and Jack Allen. Emily is studying marketing at Newman University and expects to finish in December. She wants to have a career doing event and wedding planning or working for a marketing firm. This past summer, Emily served as Northside’s summer youth intern. She said it was the best of all possible parttime jobs. In that role, she connected with the youth group girls by planning their weekly home Bible studies, teaching their Wednesday night class, planning a pool party for them, coordinating a girls’ retreat, and just hanging out with them. Emily also planned a mystery trip to Worlds of Fun for the youth group and was a crew leader for Wichita WorkCamp. She and Austin also helped with Teen Camp. Emily enjoys running, playing basketball, and reading.
Andy & Emily Preston are familiar faces at Northside. His big news is that he was baptized at Northside on September 24! Andy grew up in Hutchinson and played baseball for Garden City Junior College, Purdue, and Loyola Marymount. He played professional baseball for a few months in an independent league, but then decided to finish his degree at WSU, graduating with a bachelor’s in physical education in 2010. He has worked as a high school math teacher for 13 years, and for the past two years has been at Maize South. He also coaches baseball and basketball. Andy enjoys family time, yardwork, and officiating high school football. Emily was born and raised in Newton. She has been at Northside since 2017 when her parents, Roger & Renee Erickson, placed membership. Emily graduated from Oklahoma Christian in 2016 with a degree in nursing and earned a master’s in nursing education from WSU last year. She works as a registered nurse at Wesley Medical Center. Emily enjoys crafting and shopping at thrift stores. The Prestons have three daughters. Paisley (8 this week) is in 2nd grade at Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire. She plays club softball and basketball and enjoys reading, math, and playing with her twin sisters. Reese and Blair are 21 months old. They like to color and play on swings. Reese is kind of shy and likes drawing with sidewalk chalk and watching Cocomelon. Blair is very friendly and likes to climb on everything.
