Jean-Louis & Kimberly Giet moved to Wichita in 2016. He was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Central Africa and lived there until he was five, then his family moved to Belgium where he lived until he graduated from high school. Both are French-speaking countries, so French is Jean-Louis’ primary language. He is a good friend of Paul Herrington and worked with him at Ascension Via Christi as a National Wireless Engineer for six years. For the past two years, Jean-Lous has worked for Hewlett-Packard. Kimberly grew up in Flint, Michigan, and spent most of her adult life in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Jean-Louis moved to Cedar Rapids in 2009 and the two met when he was working and asked for her number. Kimberly worked for Yellow Book for a while, but for the past nine years has been a stay-at-home mom. She enjoys exercising at the gym. Jean-Louis also enjoys working out at the gym as well as playing soccer. He plans to serve as an assistant coach for his son’s high school soccer team this year. The Giets have four children. Kevin (18) is a junior at Augusta High School. He is on the school soccer, wrestling, and track teams and also enjoys lifting weights and studying cyber security. Julie (8) is in 3rd grade at Lincoln Elementary in Augusta. She likes wrestling, running, and art. Bernard (7) is in 2nd grade and enjoys wrestling and playing soccer. Vivienne (4) isn’t in school yet. Her mom says she is a “princess” and likes to jump on the trampoline.
Dillon & Whitney Kerans were born and raised in Wichita and graduated from Maize High School in 2010. They met in art class and were actually walking partners during graduation. Dillon played baseball in high school and then played for WSU as a pitcher until he injured his elbow. He then transferred to Hutchinson Community College and continued to play for a while, but eventually had to quit because of his injury. He has worked for Suburban Landscape Management (SLM) since 2016 as an account manager and currently manages the Lawn & Tree Department. For the past four springs he has also worked as the pitching coach at El Dorado High School and as the head coach of the junior varsity baseball team. Dillon enjoys duck hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He is the son of Northside members Kelly & Diana Kerans and is also related to Brenda Carver and Kenny Howell. Whitney attended Butler Community College where she was a cheerleader until she tore her ACL. She earned an associates degree there in business administration. She later studied marketing at WSU and is one class shy of graduating. Whitney works for Cushman & Wakefield as a Facility Maintenance Director, responsible for lululemon facility maintenance throughout North America. She enjoys reading, crafts, drawing, and cheerleading. She was the cheerleading coach at Maize South High School for one year. Dillon & Whitney have two sons. Jayce (2) enjoys jumping, throwing balls (maybe a future pitcher?), and watching “Winnie the Pooh” and “Prince of Egypt.” Hunter (1) loves to follow Jayce around and also likes to throw balls and play in the ball pit. One special note: Whitney was baptized at Northside on November 5. Congratulations, Whitney!
