Ethan Stout grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and graduated last May with a degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State. He moved to Wichita in June and works at Textron Aviation as a tooling engineer. Ethan has enjoyed being part of Northside’s Young Adults Ministry and participates regularly in their Sunday night Bible studies. In high school, he was on the soccer team and ran cross country, and last fall he completed Wichita’s Prairie Fire Marathon. Ethan also enjoys rock climbing at Bliss Climbing and hiking in the mountains of Colorado. He has hiked to the top of several 14,000-foot mountains there. (If you’re in the know, you call those “14ers”.) When resting from running, hiking, and climbing, Ethan enjoys reading science fiction, fantasy, and non-fiction.
Brayden Hunt was born and raised in Maize and spent a few summers in Ark City on his grandmother’s farm. He has been attending Northside since September 2024 and was baptized here last November. Brayden is still part of the youth group, but he graduated from Maize High School in May 2025 and is now attending Newman University. While in high school, Brayden was on the Freshman Robotics Team, which placed 3rd in the state competition. (He did the coding for the robot.) Brayden was also in the Chess Club. In the time he’s been at Northside, he has attended Silver Maple Camp, Teen Camp, Family Camp, and helped with Wichita WorkCamp. Brayden is majoring in business administration and will probably transfer to Oklahoma Christian in the fall. He wants to become a stock broker/financial advisor, and he has a 12-week internship lined up with Northwestern Mutual starting this December. In his spare time, Brayden enjoys playing basketball, researching stocks, and coding in Python, C++, and HTML computer languages. Brayden told me that before he was born he had a stroke in the womb when his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, cutting off his oxygen supply, which resulted in the left side of his body being affected by cerebral palsy. Considering that he has already started a retirement plan and portfolio, I have to say it doesn’t seem to have slowed him down any!
