John & Kerry Bush have lived in Wichita 38 years. He grew up in Sapulpa, OK, until he was 12, then moved to Jonesboro, AR. After high school, John was in the Navy during the Vietnam War and worked with electronics on the USS Nathan Hale Polaris submarine for six years. After the Navy, John worked as a computer technician for various companies, eventually starting his own business, Superior Computer Services. Kerry was born and raised in northeast Arkansas in a house her great-grandfather built. She went to a one-room schoolhouse through 3rd grade, then moved to a “big” school with 16 in her graduating class. Kerry attended Crowley’s Ridge College for two years, then worked for Southwestern Bell for 11 years, first as an operator, then as a communications consultant. She quit when she got pregnant with their first child, then later worked for H&R Block. In 1991, Kerry started Superior Tax Services and has worked as an enrolled agent out of their home for 34 years. When he was younger, John enjoyed building hot rods and doing yardwork, but in 2011 he suffered a bad fall, broke his skull and back, and had to retire. In the years since, John has experienced other health setbacks, but despite all that, he helps Kerry with her business, doing everything except the taxes for her clients. Kerry enjoys family, reading and watching TV. The Bushes have two grown children, Erika and Aaron. They also have 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and another on the way.

Amy Hernandez grew up in Wichita and graduated from Valley Center High School in 1999. She has been married to Nick for the past 11 years and works for IMA Financial Group as a Senior Insurance Certificate Technician/Trainer. Amy enjoys refinishing wood furniture, going to estate sales (mainly to buy furniture to restore), and watching baking shows like The Great British Bakeoff. She has a grown daughter in Kansas City, two grown sons in Wichita, and a 9-year-old daughter, Ellynore, who is in the 3rd grade at Vermillion Elementary in Maize. Ellynore (or Elly) likes to draw, read, play with Chico, her Boston Terrier, and play the piano, which she just  started learning how to do. Amy is a caregiver for her mom, Beverly Coldiron, who also grew up in Wichita and graduated from West High School. In her younger years, Beverly enjoyed working crossword puzzles and shopping at thrift stores. She worked as a machine operator at Metal-Fab for a long time, but had to retire and go on disability in 1992 because she suffered from epilepsy and experienced grand mal seizures. In 1998, Beverly had brain surgery in hopes of reducing or eliminating the seizures. The surgery was successful, but unfortunately, one side effect was that it eventually led to dementia five years ago. Beverly has lived with Amy for the past 11 years and enjoys playing with Ellynore.
