New Members

Kathy Diekmann was born in Oklahoma City and raised in Loraine, KS.  She earned an associate’s degree from Salt City Business College in 1980 and took theology classes at Arizona State University. Kathy has worked as a paralegal for 30 years in Arizona and Kansas and moved back to Wichita from Phoenix eight years ago. She is officially retired, but still provides legal services part time. Kathy loves helping people with estate planning and   considers it a ministry to help their heirs avoid probate court, so she does her work on a sliding scale. She has two adult children. Her son, Stone, lives in New York City and works in construction, and her daughter, Jordan, is a traveling nurse and lives in New Hampshire. Kathy is the sister of Northside member, Marilee Cox. She has a chiweenie dog and enjoys taking it on walks and taking it with her when she flies to see her children.

Austin Potts was born in Wichita and raised there and in Ark City, Attica, and Mulvane. Growing up, he spent his summers on his grandparents’ farm and says he learned his work ethic there. Just before he turned 20, Austin joined the Army National Guard and served for 12 years. He was a member of a canon crew, and while he never deployed, he experienced some hearing loss due to lots of training with field artillery. Austin has gone on assignments to help with disaster recovery over the years after tornadoes, blizzards, and hurricanes. He has worked as a plumber for eight years, currently with Fahnestock, and has his master’s plumbing license. Austin enjoys racing cars, and he rebuilt his first engine when he was only eight. He also enjoys playing disc golf and would someday like to build a go-cart. Austin’s daughter, Emma is 9 and is in 3rd grade at McLean Elementary. She likes arts & crafts and animals and is good friends with Kaylee (Womack) Canter. Emma has attended Family Camp four years with Kaylee.

Josh & Cierra Dressler live in Haysville. He grew up in Wichita attending the Emporia Ave. church of Christ and graduated from South High School in 2004. Josh has worked in security for 17 years. He is currently a sergeant for the Kansas Department of Corrections at the Eldorado Corrections Facility, where he has been for the past five years. Josh enjoys reading fantasy books and playing video games. Cierra was born in Hutchinson and also lived in Haven and in Arkansas. Her family moved to Caldwell when she was in 5th grade, and she graduated from high school there in 2006. She earned education degrees from Cowley County Community College and WSU, and in 2014 earned a master’s degree in special education. She has taught special education classes for 13 years and currently works with 6th-8th grade students at Mulvane Middle School. Cierra enjoys reading and watching TV. The Dresslers have two children. DJ (9) is in 3rd grade at Mulvane Grade School. He likes Pokemon, math, doing science experiments, and building things.  Kemper will be two in July. She likes shoes, babies, and eating.
