Ronnie Fernandez grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY, and moved to Wichita in 2009 when he was 27. He has held down one or two jobs ever since he was 15. Over the years, Ronnie has built cabinets, he worked with produce in a grocery store, he drove a taxi in New York City, and he worked in a restaurant for six years. For the past nine years, Ronnie has worked as an elevator operator for Ardent Mills, the fourth largest mill in the United States, managing wheat shipments. Over time at that job, he has become good at fixing things, and he is now employing his handyman skills at home doing things like installing new flooring and making repairs to plumbing. Ronnie loves sports and used to be good at keeping a hacky sack in the air for long periods of time. He still enjoys playing basketball and baseball, growing house plants, and cooking. Ronnie was baptized at Northside on May 18, and he said one of his most important goals now is to see his son, Ronnie (RP), become a follower of Christ, too. RP is 13 and is in the 8th grade at Brooks STEM and Arts Magnet Middle School. He likes computers, coding, animation, and hopes to create a video game someday.

Adam Vincent has lived his whole life in Goddard and graduated this past spring from Goddard High School. While in school there, he was on the cross country team and ran the distance races on the track team. He was a member of the Business Professionals of America club all four years and served as its vice president for three years. Adam enjoyed his computer programming classes so much that he is planning to major in computer science starting Monday, August 18, at Wichita State. Adam works part time at the Chili’s restaurant at Central & Maize with several guys from our youth group, including Cooper Hudson, Luke & Eli Griffith, and Stuart Hess. After being invited by Cooper in March, Adam started attending Northside and taking part in youth group events. On July 13, Adam decided to give his life to Christ, and Cooper had the honor of baptizing him. Adam’s parents, his older brother, and quite a few other relatives from Wichita and surrounding cities were present that Sunday to witness his new birth.
