Mia Morrow grew up in far northwest Kansas in the community of St. Francis. She is the granddaughter of Sonny & Norma Banning and the niece of Aaron & Brianne Banning. In high school, Mia enjoyed playing volleyball, basketball, and track. She also tried golf, but admitted that was probably a mistake. Mia also likes music and sang with the school choir and played trumpet in the concert and pep bands. Her mother, Talley, directs those groups, but Mia jokes that had nothing to do with her interest in music. Mia actually helped lead the singing at our most recent Women Walking with God conference, singing in a trio with Cammie Nelson and Emily Herz. She studied business administration at Chadron State in Nebraska for a year and then went to EMT school for a summer in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska. Mia moved to Wichita last November to work as an EMT, but it takes six months to get a license, so she went to work as a patient care tech at West Wichita Family Physicians. Now she has decided to get into nursing and hopes to start work on a nursing degree at WSU Tech this spring. In her spare time, Mia enjoys making crochet blankets and cooking pasta. She has become very involved with Northside’s college-age group and enjoys activities with them throughout the week.
Christian Morrell was born in Wichita and is the grandson of Northside members David & Fern Moore. His dad served in the Air Force for 20 years, and as a result, Christian was raised in Japan, Utah, New England, and Texas. In 2019 he earned a degree in criminal justice from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. After college, Christian worked security for a golf course for a couple of years and then worked at a Walmart distribution facility in an environmental health & safety position for three years in Granbury, TX. In July, he moved to Wichita to work as a para educator at Maize South High School. Christian also plans to start working part-time at a Hallmark store soon. In his spare time, Christian enjoys reading, playing disc golf, and decorating for Christmas. (That last hobby might explain his interest in working for Hallmark!)
Emily Jacobs was baptized at Northside on September 12. She was born in Wichita, raised in Cheney, and graduated from Cheney High School in 2015. Emily pitched for the Barton Community College women’s softball team for a year and then transferred to Fort Hays State University, where she graduated in 2020 with a degree in accounting/finance. She has worked for 2.5 years as a financial analyst for Invista/Koch Industries. Emily plays volleyball in a YMCA women’s league and also enjoys playing coed softball and spending time at the lake with family wakeboarding. She lives next door to her sister and has a mini Aussiedoodle dog named Murphy. Emily is engaged to Northside member, Isaac Klingman. They met in October 2021 when one of his clients got engaged to her best friend from high school. Emily & Isaac are planning to marry on February 22 of next year.
