Our Mystery Shopper
You’ll never guess who visited Northside recently!
Last week, Paul Herrington showed me a Reddit post from someone in Wichita: “Hello all. I’ve recently felt drawn to get back into church. I haven’t been in over 15 years. I’m 31 and just in search of a genuine Christian church with loving people and a wholesome pastor/preacher.”
Paul replied with this post: “You would be welcome to check out Northside Church of Christ up at 4545 N. Meridian, off K96 N. Been there for many years. Great place for good Bible teaching and authentic people. We’d love to have you check it out!”
And then someone else replied to Paul’s post: “I visited recently and they are making it a point to be welcoming.”
Did you see that? We had a “mystery shopper!” And you got a good report!
In Matthew 25:35, Jesus said, “I was a stranger, and you welcomed me,” (ESV) and then in verse 40 he said, “Anything you did for any of my people here, you also did for me.” (ERV)
To those of you who welcomed that mystery shopper, Jesus said you welcomed him! He didn’t say it was LIKE you welcomed him, he said you welcomed HIM!
When you saw someone you didn’t know and introduced yourself, you met JESUS!
When you brought food for Guest Lunch and ate with a guest, you ate with JESUS!
When you wore your name badge so our guests could get to know you, you did that for JESUS!
Keep it up, church! JESUS will probably visit again soon!
