Stinking Thinking Is Not Your Friend
How many of you are familiar with the term “Stinking Thinking?” Better yet how many of you have flirted with stinking thinking enough to define the relationship as an outright romance? Stinking thinking can be extremely charming and capable of luring potential victims into all sorts of distorted conclusions. Stinking thinking can be so seductive that under its spell some decide to introduce their new acquaintance to family and friends totally unaware of the havoc about to be released among their inner circle of friends. Once stinking thinking sneaks inside the door of opportunity, it will seek to persuade you into a lifetime commitment of unholy matrimony. If you or someone you know, frequently pals around with “Stinking Thinking,” then this article is just for you or them. Consider the following scripture and what it teaches us regarding how or what to do when stinking thinking comes our direction.
2Corinthians 10:3-5
3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
As children of God, we have access to kingdom thoughts, thinking, behaving, and believing. Our ability to utilize the weapons God has equipped us with directly correlates with our willingness to by faith believe, practice, and implement tools provided us for spiritual warfare. If we become more familiar, interested, curios or entertained by fear, questioning, doubting, or pouting over the ways in which Satan operates his affairs? We have basically neutralized our spiritual effectiveness by not putting into use weapons at our disposal to defeat the ploys of the enemy. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. According to Ephesians 6:12. Satan works under the veil of isolation, secrecy or enticing struggling believers into dark spaces. Pride or self-rightness are pathways to stinking thinking. God is sitting at His throne, and He’s provided us a gateway toward Kingdom level concepts proven to provide victory through Jesus our savior. Before arriving at the end, remember “Stinking Thinking” is not your friend. For there’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus! No not One!
