What are your plans for Wednesday evenings this summer?
Everyone’s personal and family schedules get busy during the summer months. If you doubt that, just check with any Northside family with children! Still, coming to the Northside building on Wednesday evening is a good habit to continue this summer. Here are a few things we have planned for Wednesday evenings:
- Feed Your Family – We’re continuing our Family Fellowship Meals on the first Wednesday of each month. On the other Wednesday evenings, bring your favorite fast food to the building and eat with your Northside brothers and sisters. Fellowship is a blessing to be developed.
- Guest Speakers in the Auditorium – This summer, we’ve invited twelve outstanding speakers to take the Northside pulpit from 7:00 to 7:45 each Wednesday. We’ll have local names we already know, York College speakers, and Oklahoma Christian speakers. God’s word never changes, but it’s always good to study it from a new perspective. We will be blessed by the work and effort these men will bring to Northside.
- SNOW CONES! – And watching our youngest Northsiders in the playground area.
Our schedules are different in the summer: sports practices and games, household and lawn chores, special work projects, family vacations and other activities. All of these can be good things, but they also combine to make life seem more hectic and complicated. But even in the summer, it’s still important to keep first things first. God’s word (and God’s people) should be our highest priority regardless of our schedules. Each week, there is someone who will be a blessing to you if you’re able to be in touch with them. Each week, there will be someone to whom you can be that very same blessing. May God be glorified in our daily lives this summer!
(Spoiler Alert) BLAST is coming soon. Stay tuned for more information on a new training program for kids who have finished 3rd – 6th grade. BLAST (Bible Learning And Service Training) will be for 4 weeks on Wednesdays from about 12:30 to 6:00 pm and will be a great way for our older children to develop their talents for serving the Lord.
