Teen Camp 2026: “Because He Lives”
In just a few days, 65 of our teenagers, along with our adult counselors and volunteers, will load up and head to the mountains of Colorado for our annual Teen Camp. Every year, this week becomes one of the highlights of the summer and we would love for our church family to be praying alongside us.
Camp is certainly filled with fun. There will be games, hiking, late-night conversations, laughter, evening worship, and memories that will last a lifetime. Just as important, our teens will spend an entire week building friendships with other believers and strengthening the sense of community that helps them walk faithfully with Christ long after camp is over.
But while those things are valuable, they are not our primary goal. Our greatest desire is that every student who comes to camp has a personal encounter with the living Christ.
This year’s theme is “Because He Lives,” taken from 1 Peter 1:3: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
Peter reminds us that Christianity is built upon a living hope. Our hope is not based on wishful thinking or positive circumstances. It is grounded in the historical reality that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Because He lives, sin can be forgiven. Because He lives, broken lives can be restored. Because He lives, death is not the end. Because He lives, every person can experience new birth and eternal life.
That is the message we want our teenagers to hear again and again throughout the week.
Please pray that hearts will be softened, distractions removed, and God’s Word will take deep root. Pray for our speakers as they proclaim the gospel with clarity and conviction. Pray for our counselors as they invest in conversations that often continue long after the lessons are over. Pray for safety as we travel and for wisdom as we lead.
Most of all, pray that students who have never surrendered their lives to Christ will choose to participate in His death, burial, and resurrection through baptism, putting on Christ and beginning a new life in Him. There is no greater victory than seeing someone move from death to life through the saving work of Jesus.
Thank you for loving our young people, encouraging this ministry, and faithfully praying for them. We are excited to see what God will accomplish this week, and we look forward to sharing the stories of His faithfulness when we return.
