When we give God glory in both our failures and successes, our burdens become easier to bear. It is in the ups and downs of life that Christ reveals the choices He made to remain in His Father’s will. True discipleship challenges us to die to self and reflect. We should ask ourselves: How is my attitude and approach to this crisis equipping me to experience the Holy Spirit’s leading and guidance?
What if we spoke as if we already knew our deliverance and change had come? “Lord, it feels amazing to watch, wait, and remain in step with You. I used to struggle with letting go and placing matters in Your hands, but now I eagerly anticipate witnessing You showing up and coming through. Honestly, Lord, Your ways are on point—effective, efficient, consistent, thorough, and true. I am at my best when I remove myself and witness Your wonder and majesty do what only You can do.”
Hardships, trials, and setbacks are temporary; they never last. The opportunity to experience God accomplishing things that we cannot do on our own is yet another example of how our personal stories connect to Him. When we collect and connect enough of these stories, they can build a faith that overrides our hurts, pain, and fear. God is not broken, defeated, or incapable, and neither are you. As Genesis 1:27 states, “So God created mankind in His own image; in the image of God, He created them; male and female, He created them.”
If God’s word is true (and believe me, it is), then we can be like God (not gods) and know when to turn off our creative power and rest in Him. We are also capable of recognizing when our creative energy becomes relationally destructive, and we need to stop before too much damage is done. God is glorified when we acknowledge Him in the midst of failures or while experiencing a mountaintop moment.
Take time to invite God into your situation, trusting and expecting insight or revelation to flow your way that supersedes any conclusions you’ve already made. It’s possible that a God-sized solution awaits your obedience and glorifies Him!
