Sunday Mornings (11/13/22 – 2/05/23)
Our Sunday Bible classes will return to our life-stage structure and we’ll be discussing Paul’s letters to Timothy and Titus. Teachers are preparing for their classes and it will be good to re-establish former classroom relationships. Hopefully, each of our life-stage classes can have a holiday fellowship to get back into the swing of things! Thanks to everyone for their cooperation during this quarter’s experience with intergenerational classes.
Wednesday Evenings (11/09/22 – 12/07/22)
There are three spiritual disciplines specifically mentioned by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount: praying, giving, and fasting. For five weeks, Brian Middleton will lead a class in the auditorium on the history, methods, types, and purpose of fasting. We will focus on what the Bible says about fasting, but also incorporate modern research. Don’t worry, you won’t be required to miss a single meal… but you may want to!
Wednesday Evenings (12/14/22 – 5/03/23)
In the auditorium, Steve Tandy will teach his class on the Holy Spirit. The Bible refers to the Holy Spirit from cover to cover. Jesus says more about the Spirit than He does about the church, marriage, finances, and the future, but the Spirit still is a mystery to most Christians. If Jesus sent Him specifically to be our Helper, maybe we should learn who the Spirit is and how the Spirit can help. This class will help you get acquainted with the One who lives within you.
In February – April we will likely offer a women’s class in the Fireside Room and also restart our Just Us Guys class.
How does Bible class compare with other priorities in your life? We are very busy, and each day offers many good ways to spend our time. Are we committing enough time and resources to the key areas in our lives that deserve our focus and commitment?
Attending Bible class each week is not a specific command in the Bible, but it is one of the best ways to spend our time. Increasing our Bible knowledge is a good thing. Looking for ways to improve our lives through applying God’s word is important. Fellowship with Northsiders (encouraging and being encouraged) is sometimes the high point of a given week. Let’s attend and participate in our Northside adult Bible classes, and to God be all glory.
