You Make a Difference!

Our annual Missions Sunday is April 27. On that day, we’ll update you on our mission efforts and ask you to submit a purpose form to let us know how much you plan to give to missions during the coming 12 months.

It’s important to realize that each work we support is unique and bears fruit in different ways. Sometimes the fruit is obvious, and sometimes we won’t know about all the good God is doing through us until we get to heaven.

Buenos Aires, Argentina – Jonathan Hanegan has been spreading the good news in South America for 19 years, first in Venezuela, and since 2011 in Argentina. Many people have obeyed the gospel after he built a relationship and then studied the Bible with them. There is now a vibrant community of believers in Buenos Aires reaching out to refugees, the unemployed, and those who are tired of living in sin. Two years ago, we began supporting Chema & Vanessa Izarra to work full time with Jonathan. Together, they are ministering to a congregation of more than 50 believers and reaching out to the lost in a metropolitan area of almost 16 million people.

Salinas, Ecuador – Three years ago, two families planted a church in this coastal city on the westernmost tip of Ecuador. Kevin & Yurubi Canelón and Alex & Daynella Rivas all graduated from the Quito School of Biblical Studies. The men were the top graduates in 2021! In three short years, these families have built a congregation of 20+ souls using several different outreach methods.

Latin American Bible Institute (ILEB) – Since 1998, 360+ students in Mexico and other Latin American countries have graduated from ILEB, 40 churches have been planted by those graduates, and roughly 95% are active in church ministry in 140 Latin American churches.

Downtown Kansas City Church of Christ – For the past two years, Northside has provided support to this church that has been working with the inner-city poor since 1966. Its minister, Brother Wes Anderson, will give us a report on their work on Missions Sunday.

World Christian Broadcasting – From two huge shortwave radio stations in Alaska and Madagascar, this ministry broadcasts radio programs in major world languages to almost the entire globe. For 41 years, millions of listeners have tuned in to hear music, news, popular songs, and messages from the Bible. We don’t know exactly how many people hear the broadcasts, but we do know that World Christian’s websites receive several million visits each year.

Keep up the good work, church. You make a difference!
