Outreach Ministries

Jesus told his followers to “make disciples of all the nations.” (Matthew 28:19) Northside embraces this charge in a number of ways, including a long-running television program, sending missionaries world wide, and training church members to be effective witnesses of Christ to their friends.

Know Your Bible

In 1986, Northside started a television program called Know Your Bible (KYB). It can be seen every Sunday morning at 10:00 on channel 3 in Wichita.  It can also be seen all over Kansas and in Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Colorado, Nebraska, Arkansas, Iowa and South Dakota. (If you don’t live in the Wichita area, check your local listings for time & channel). During the program, a three-member panel of Northside ministers answer Bible questions that have been called in by viewers. Free Bible correspondence courses are offered, and over the years, thousands of viewers have taken advantage of this helpful tool.  To learn more about KYB, click here to visit the website.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a ministry for adults that helps its participants live lives in celebration of God’s grace to recover from the hurts, habits and hang-ups of life. CR meets EVERY Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:45 pm. Click here to view the website.

International and Domestic Missions

Northside believes strongly in being the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world”. One way we do that is by sending missionaries to all parts of the world to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. Missionaries from Northside are currently working in Argentina, Mexico, and Minnesota.  We also support World Christian Broadcasting.

Local Evangelism

Northside members are encouraged to share the Good News about Jesus with their friends and acquaintances. If you would like to arrange a home Bible study or would like to receive a Bible correspondence course by mail, please CONTACT THE CHURCH OFFICE.

Community Benevolence

Jesus told his followers that “if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple…he will certainly not lose his reward.” (Matthew 10:42)  The Christians at Northside follow this command in several ways. Each October we have an annual “Harvest Sunday” where we collect food and supplies for Carpenter Place, a home serving girls in crisis.  We also cooperate with other churches of Christ in Wichita to operate Simple House, which distributes food and clothing to those in need.

Wichita WorkCamp

Wichita WorkCamp (WWC) is an annual service project that brings teenagers, college students, and adults together to repair, scrape, and paint homes for people in need. WWC is an opportunity to put the principle of Christ-like service into action. Christians are called by Jesus to be servant-hearted. At WWC, our slogan is “Serving God by Serving People.” We invite you to join in the adventure and make a lifelong impact. To learn more about WWC, click here to visit the website.
