He’s the man you entrust your children to.
But, do you really know him?
Here are a few things you may not know about the man:
Mike Ward
[clear]
Mike was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas. He met his wife, Kayla, a native of Midland, Texas, while they were attending Midwestern State University (MSU) in Wichita Falls. The two were very involved with the Church of Christ Student Center on the campus of MSU, while attending the Tenth & Broad Church of Christ together. They were married on August 5, 2006, and have grown their family since that time with the addition of a daughter, Lyla, and a son, Liam.
Mike graduated from MSU in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in History, and was a Junior High history teacher and coach for six years in Wichita Falls. He left the public education world to pursue full-time ministry by attending Sunset International Bible Institute in Lubbock, Texas, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Theology in 2015. He then joined the Northside family to serve as Youth Minister in May 2015.
Although Mike is interested in many different things, he mostly enjoys activities such as spending time with his family, reading, playing a variety of sports and games, watching movies, drawing, cooking, and juggling (…time spent in all those other activities). Kayla was a Middle School art teacher for five years before becoming a full-time stay-at-home-mom during Mike’s time in ministry school, and she enjoys arts-and-crafts, reading, and cooking.
