At Northside, we believe the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16) When someone has a physical or spiritual need, hundreds of Northsiders petition God after learning of prayer requests through the Northside Prayer Tree. In addition, at the beginning of each school year, willing adult volunteers are paired up with students to become “Prayer Pals.” This is an effective way to teach children the power of prayer and to provide another adult to be a friend.
While we try to worship God with our lives “24/7,” our Sunday assembly time is very special. When the family comes together, we worship through uplifting songs, prayers, reading the Bible, partaking together of the Lord’s Supper, giving sacrificially, and hearing challenging lessons from God’s word. Worship services are held at 10:00 on Sunday mornings and 6:00 Sunday nights.
“Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise.” (James 5:13) Some occasions call for singing. Northside has a special group called the Northside Singers that performs at weddings, funerals and other special occasions with beautiful a cappella singing.
