Outreach

Jesus told his followers to “make disciples of all the nations.” (Matthew 28:19)  Northside embraces this charge in a number of ways, including a long-running television program, sending missionaries worldwide, and training church members to be effective witnesses of Christ to their friends.

Know Your Bible

In 1986 Northside started a television program called Know Your Bible. It can be seen every Sunday morning at 10:00 on Channel 3 in Wichita and can also be seen all over Kansas and in parts of Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Colorado, Nebraska, Arkansas, Iowa, and South Dakota. During the program, three preachers (current and former ministers at Northside) answer Bible questions that have been called in by viewers. Free Bible correspondence courses are offered, and thousands of viewers have taken advantage of the study opportunity. Visit www.knowyourbible.com for more information about this effective method of spreading the Good News of Jesus.

International Missions

Northside believes strongly in being the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world”.  One way we do that is by sending missionaries to all parts of the world to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Missionaries from Northside are currently working in Scotland, Argentina, and Mexico.

Local Evangelism

This ministry is charged with training Northside members to share the Good News about Jesus with those who need him, one of the most important things that Christians are to do.

Community Benevolence

Jesus told his followers that “if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple…he will certainly not lose his reward.” (Matthew 10:42)  One way the Christians at Northside follow this command is to cooperate with other churches of Christ in Wichita to operate SIMPLE House, which distributes food and clothing downtown to those in need.

Greeting

When people visit Northside, greeters and ushers make a special effort to help them feel welcome, show them to Bible classes, and give them information to answer any questions they might have.

Sunday Guest Lunches

Every Sunday (except holidays) some of our members prepare lunch to share with guests.  It’s our way of saying “thanks for coming”. The lunch is held in the Multipurpose Room, directly across from the auditorium.  If you’re visiting, please plan to join us!
