Andy & Lena Duncan
Andy was born and raised in Wichita. He graduated from North High School, spent a year at a trade school in Phoenix, AZ, and then attended WSU. His parents owned a grounds maintenance company, where Andy worked as a teenager and learned the value of hard work. He has one sister, who also lives in Wichita.
Andy attended the Emporia Avenue Church of Christ for the first 32 years of his life. He was baptized as a teenager and served as a deacon there for several years.
Lena is the daughter of Northside members, John and Brenda Sandlin. She was born in Wichita Falls, TX, and then moved to Wichita in 1985. She attended the Westlink Church of Christ and then the Central (now Riverwalk) Church of Christ and was baptized in 1986.
Andy and Lena met through mutual friends in 1995 and married in 1996. She graduated from WSU in 1997 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. They attended Emporia Avenue Church of Christ until 2003 when they placed membership at Northside.
Andy has served as a deacon at Northside and has taught various adult and children’s classes. He is currently working with the Men’s Ministry. Andy enjoys being involved with that ministry and is looking forward to the continued growth of that work.
Lena has taught and substituted in various children’s classes and has helped with multiple youth group events over the years. She works in the kitchen helping prepare Wednesday Night Meals as well as helping with Wichita WorkCamp meals and is currently on the Funeral Meals team. Andy and Lena also work alongside their son, Will, and his wife, Grace, to help facilitate the Loft class for 5th & 6th graders.
Andy has worked at AT&T for 25 years and has served in many roles there. He currently works in the Business Service Department. Lena works part-time as a teller at Emprise Bank in Andover. They have two children. Will is married to Grace, and Jill attends Oklahoma Christian University.
